D3 on mot test brake rollers

went with my friends daughter for an mot yesterday in her golf
she tends to get ripped off so i went along
anyway the golf passed

when we arrived there was a 2009 D3 on the brake rollers being mot'd
they just drove it on as normal tested the front and rear brakes
so i questioned the mot man .. that audi is a quattro and i didn't you could do that ?
he said oh no its ok our new rollers detect whether its ok to continue and it only goes a few mph so doesn't make any difference

Is he right ?

ive had lots of quattros and they have been driven up the road every time to test the brakes...
