Default 3.0 TDI Realistic MPG

Hello

I'm wondering if any A8 3.0 TDI owners can give me a reaslitic idea what mpg can be expected on a run?

At present I'm doing just under 100 miles a day round trip to and from work. On the usual Auto trader is list 44mpg on a run but not sure how accurate this is. I'm not a fast driver happy to sit between 60-70 mph just not sure what realistic expectations are for an A8. Might be an option to have A8 and something more economical for work.

Doing 65, my 4.2tdi will give me about 44.. so you should get well above that for a 3.0

Just done Plymouth to Bristol and got 41mpg.
Then Bristol to Birmingham and got 41mpg.
Round town I'm getting 30mpg.

I would say mid 30s from my experience, no way will the 3.0 diesel get 40+mpg and I do mostly motorway miles at a leisurely pace

I would expect late 30's on a run at about 70 in my 3.0tdi.....when I'm trying I have got into the shallow 40's. Around town I get from mid twenties to low thirties....lots of traffic and it struggles into the twenties though.
It'll be interesting to see the variation. I would be considered gentle on the loud pedal as a rule.

From the day I bought mine I've always got 40mpg motorway to 30mpg round town.
And I might have a faulty MAF.

This is based on DIS1.
Which I think is the start of the trip.
DIS2 shows something different but I think that's the constant since the time of reset.

I get
18-20mpg in urban traffic jams.
28mpg in light urban traffic
34mpg on fast motorways and A roads, including urban at each end.
36-39 mpg if really trying on long runs.
Would really struggle to get over 40mpg unless setting cruise to <70mph and resetting the DIS OBC.

***EDIT*** I should add my car runs cool (~70˚c) when a lot of air or cold air is going through the grille (fast speeds or winter).
Suspect EGR cooler thermostat is letting water bypass the normal thermostat.

I left Birmingham tuesday morning and drove all the way to Plymouth with CC set to 75mph and I got 42mpg on DIS1.
DIS2 was showing closer to 35mpg but I've not reset that since I bought the car.
