Mine sailed through the last couple of years. This year after all the suspension work I have renewed and 2 new rear tyres on the big boys I thought "oh I'll get the MOT updated while its getting the rear tyres. . . and it failed dammit lol.
1 x Front CV boot split and a nasty gash on the inner edge of one of the front tyres (uhh they were both practically new!) So about £250 ish later we are all ok again here too, just poorer lol *sigh*

I've been pretty lucky I suppose, I've just put mine through its 3rd MOT in my ownership, and it sailed through again, I've not had advisories at any time either, so I'm very pleased with my '8', not the prettiest or highest specced, but good and reliable

Not to mention 'fun'
