Mine is still good this morning - Sunday to Thursday, sat in the drivers knee cubby hole. Parked outside.

So is it OK or not when garaged?
Mine is still fine.

Yep, been fine while garaged

I've dropped the car off for a wheel refurb today - pick it up tomorrow so once it's been driven and put away in garage I'll check it still works

Can't see it being a problem anyway - seems to work fine in factory position

I'm going to stick receiver under parcel shelf through those holes in the boot and there is just enough space for the receiver.

In parallel I'm going to order monster DCF antenna from Germany.
Update:

I have done 1+ week testing and I have stable reception in the boot under parcel shelf. Leaving receiver there permanently is a good option.

I also ordered new receiver from Audi (£60) as I believe my is not tuned good enough. 'Tree test' failed while Adrian's receiver worked tip top on the same spot. Want to mount that receiver in OEM spot when I get there when refreshing RNS-E project starts.

Discussion with zee Germans about industrial grade receiver still continues...

Picked mine up from its wheel refurb earlier and despite being parked overnight in an industrial building (basically in a Faraday cage) complete with a Bentley Continental parked right over it on a hoist(!) it managed to keep signal. I will be parking it up after the weekend as per usual so if it is still showing the antenna symbol next Friday when I get the car out I can be 100% certain it has picked up a signal at some point while garaged.

I'm pretty confident it's working exactly as intended

That does sound plausible given your "tree test" and compared to Adrian's.

Mine had lost the signal on Sunday morning, but recovered it by today. Though it was still "spot on" compared to the Radio 4 "pips" yesterday evening.
But it's still in the drivers knee hole, so pretty shielded there - must tidy up the cabling and move it soon.
Interested to see how quickly it picks up (assuming it does) on the change from BST to GMT in a couple of weeks time.

I can confirm that works.

As I still haven't sorted out a good permanent location for mine it occasionally (depending on use) loses the radio synch and the little aerial disappears from the display.
When that happens, as I leave the car (after a drive) I move the receiver up onto the dash (it just reaches by the A-pillar) and invariably on return it's synch'ed again.

I can add that I finished installing Hormann doors in my garage and I now parked car in garage with receiver installed under rear parcel shelf. I will know tomorrow after 3+ full days in garage if receiver works under parcel shelf in the garage.

I think a lot of people here are waiting for an easy 'under knee panel' solution, so you HP blaze the trail !

I'm inclined to install receiver in OEM location, like we did with Adrian, as I'll be trying to upgrade my RNS-E to '2010+ RNS-E' and will be tidying up that area anyway.

At least the original bracket is still available so it's not too tricky now we know how to approach it. Am currently looking at some trim removal tool sets on eBay for future use!
