I've had the mechatronics kit fitted - doesn't involve the box coming out, but it's still not a cheap job. From memory the kit is about £300 and includes new circuit board, wiring, couple of valves etc. Requires ODIS coding as well. I can look out the bill if it helps? David did it for us. Car is now on 96k and the clutches are still fine (touches ample amount of wood!) and the work was done a couple of years/20k ago IIRC.
I only got a couple of warning messages, which flashed up and disappeared. I have a copy of the TSB for this, and your code appears in it, which I've attached
