Well, no reply, but here's what I'm going to try....
These visors, they're melted around the edges and that's how they're sealed closed, so going back into them is a near impossibility. The glass is only glued onto some foam, so I've busted that out the rest of the way. I'm going to buy a plastic mirror rather than glass and cut it to the correct size. If I use glass I cannot bend it at all to fit it whereas the plastic will bend enough to fit even if larger than the hole. We'll see how it turns out...
