That's what I had read, the FSI required a blend of gas and petrol to run properly

what do you get mpg wise in terms of savings over all ?
Father in laws car has been great since the conversion, he's had no niggles other than the wiring fault on installation - fixed by the installer. His car has the later STAG system that monitors the lambda sensors and constantly adjusts. He's chuffed to bits with it.

You'll probably remember I was having lots of issues with mine, it was an early STAG 300 system and I eventually found out the Valtek injectors were worn out. Since replaced with OMVL injectors and not a problem since.

My 'real world' tank to tank mpg over 40k comes out at just under 19 mpg, that's with a good mix of local and motorway driving (the car has now done nearly 50k since the LPG was installed).

Going on LPG being just over half the price of diesel (I use diesel for my comparison as I have had big engined diesels in the past and use that as my reference 'cause I can relate to that better) I'm looking at a real world equivalent of 36-40 mpg.

Don't believe the DIS mpg as it is based on calculations from requested petrol injector pulses. You are 'multiplying' gas into the engine over and above that to make up for the calorific drop in LPG so only use tank to tank calculations.

That being said I have seen a motorway only tank give me 25mpg at around 75-80 !

With a 95l toroidal tank and I have a range of around 360 miles, I don't use the LED gas gauge as they are often calibrated incorrectly. I just reset the trip when I fill up and when I have around 300 miles on the tank I start looking to fill up.

LPG is getting more plentiful with ASDA and Morrisons offering it in places and I have an account with Countrywide (mainly in south west locations from Birmingham down.

Also the petrol 4.2 is significanlty less complex than a derv engined car and parts are more realistically priced
