It depends a lot from what gates/garage doors you have.
Used interior light module with home link buttons is 90quid, control unit 200quid and then a module for your GD, this depends on manufacturer. As far as I remember, BFT wants something like 400-700quid for the gate module, stupid. If your one is in the region of 100-150quid then you can do the whole project for up to 500quid  I would still prefer to spend this money for something else as the remote under the armrest does the job very well
