Default D2 Differential Oil Leak

As you may well know I have been fighting a few oil leaks from the old girl over the last couple of months.

I was never 100% sure where they were coming from and as we know D2s can leak a little as they get older and rack up the miles. It was getting rather annoying because even jacked up I could not really see where the damn leak was, in fact as I found out I had three!

So thanks to Guy at Prestige & Performance Ltd who spent time with me to go through the car and identify exactly the root cause of the problems.

The front and centre differentials were the main cause and leaking oil so the seals have now been replaced; as it turned out the front diff was pretty much empty of oil on inspection due to the leak.

Added to that the sump gasket was beginning to fail so I had that replaced including the sump bolts all at the same time.

At last no damn oil drops on the driveway anymore, plus I got the old girl serviced whilst all the other work was going on and all done in a day.

A good job sorted
If you can accept that there's a certain amount of upkeep cost on a a car of this age, its certainly rewarded.

Indeed, I have spent about £2000 on the old girl over the last couple of months.

Though that includes decent tyres, discs, pads, calipers, service, MOT, leaks etc so all in not that expensive.

Also it's such a great car it needs to be looked after, plus it's not that much if you consider the car really is not depreciating anymore.

It's about a months worth of depreciation on a new S8 Plus
