Ha ha, did he honestly buy a Rangie for fuel eco? if so he deffo bought the wrong car, he needs one of those 3 cylinder putt putt thingys. Range Rovers have always been rubbish on fuel thats their thing, and obviously going wrong. but great things.

I had an allroad for a couple of months as a loan car, it was really nice and I'd seriously consider taking one in lieu of an A8 at some point.

Not sure how much was standard spec, but laminated glass all round, leather/alcantara interior and a few toys meant it was a nice place to be

It was this one http://www.sytner.co.uk/car-search/5...-5dr-s-tronic/

The 3.0tdi had plenty of go and wasn't was fairly light on fuel - but my comparators are all V8s!

Check the build sticker, should confirm power or at least engine code.

Check here for detail - http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/showthread.php?t=37

218, 245 or 272 PS versions of the 3.0 TDI, which equates to 160, 180 or 200 KW I think?

Shark Performance would be a good shout.. Not sure if they're still doing the 25% off at the minute too.

At least the older model looked as though it could handle "All Roads" and not just the speed bumps at Tescos...

Having owned a launch model in 2000 and having driven this one for a couple of months I can confirm what they have done is massively improve it!

It still has the air suspension, but rather than being a test mule for what became the D3 A8 and some what shonky as a result it is well developed and on the "allroad raised" setting has more ground clearance then the original one, which if I remember correctly was boasted as the same as a landrover!

I doubt you'd go green laning or properly off road in either, but ideal for speed bumps and potholes
