This D4 purchase was a little bit of a knee jerk reaction to having sold the RS6 and suddenly having nothing. It's worked out well though and I love the D4 concept, and the spec of this one in particular.

Given the choice, I wouldn't have a silver car, so it was never a long term keeper, but none of mine ever are

I since bought a TT also for the summer, and after a few upgrades its more than capable of chewing a few motorway miles if it had to.

So, at the minute I could keep my D4, or maybe (subject to seeing it in the flesh) consider that other D4, but i just don't need the hassle of having 2 D4's right now. and a TT. and a Q7. and a D2. You get the picture

It wasn't over priced when it started, the main issue was the seller. TCS used to be called Thornham Car Sales, google them if you are interested

i didnt go because i think they had something on their site that said you can only do finance with their companies, and the rates were awful

The spec is reasonable, mileage acceptable but I switched off it along time ago but don't remember exactly why. Probably lack of sunroof.

So do tell, what was the viewing experience like ? Is the car actually any good, or has it grown roots?

Well, to expand 'hassle' into its component parts:

(1) debt. Having 2 20K cars isn't at all sustainable for more than a month which sounds stressful
(2) lack of space on the drive
(3) earache from the missus about number 2
(4) earache from anyone coming to visit us due to number 2
(5) additional number 3 due to number 4

I can't honestly say its terrible, but if Audi would simply do a 6 seater convertible that eats motorway miles economically and is fun on the back roads, we could be a one car family

I viewed it in January 2015, the car looked clean and was a launch car but maybe slightly excessive wear on the steering wheel/drivers seat for 80k miles. The viewing experience reminded me of this http://www.bbc.co.uk/comedy/leagueofgentlemen/, very awkward to be honest!

Went home, did some google, came up with this, never went back!

Plus I love a sunroof!
