Um. That's not good reading. Probably goes a long way to explaining why it's still for sale. Says a lot when it ticked all your spec boxes a year ago and you still walked away and kept looking....

To be fair I did want a sunroof. I had a deal on the table for a main dealer car, exact same spec but only 40k miles for £1,800 extra a couple of weeks later, left that one too!

Default ipod connection
Is the ipod connector in the centre console the same cable & connector as the d3 AMI ipod cable?
if yes does that mean you can also put the HDD cable in it and run a hdd instead

Yes and yes I believe, although there is already a Hard Drive in the D4 nav unit also that you can rip CDs straight onto

Also there are some subtle differences in the cables, i.e. My D3 ipod cable worked but buying a new one got me album art

thanks for that i have 2 cables in my d3 one for the audi 320gb hdd and an unused ipod cable, might as well keep the hdd if it works

I concur. I'm using a usb ami lead in my d4 for a usb stick without issue. I strongly suspect it's the same cable I've been using for years on 2G, 3G etc.

There seems to some improvements in the newer ami / leads but all seems very backwardly compatible from my experience.

You can also use a2dp to stream music from your phone which is nice modern touch.

its good stuff, unfortunately my phone is a works phone, nokia lumia, but locked down with very little memory, card port is locked out so cant fit much music on it.
i havent had a phone bill in 15 years dont really want to start now

may make an exception for a cheap data sim for the google

i was looking at happydayz - cant see anything that resembles a radio upgrade
