I updated from 21.2.0 0534 to 55.7.0 08xx without any CP in BOSE etc..
I did it with engine running and ran the CD's twice but don't think the second run did anything. |

Matty; I'm puzzled about your temporary CP. I got that on my Bose recently when the Motorola phone ECU packed up and my amp started gapping [going silent for about half a second every 5 mins or so] but it went away when I replaced the phone ECU [and cleared the DTCs with VCDS]! My original CP when I went to 5570 was permanent but that was 6 years ago and I didn't have VCDS at the time to check the DTCs. But thanks everyone [so far] ![]() Given that some D3 owners did and some didn't have to have CP removed, I'm wondering: 1) Did it depend on which Hxx level your Bose amp is? Mine is H13 from VCDS 2) Is the '0460' firmware on 5150 and 5570 different? That is, did some update from the 5150 CD and some update from the 5570 CD by bypassing 5150? I'm going to check that ... UPDATE: I have checked that and all the code is identical on both 5150 and 5570 CDs. So it's not that! I did discover that Audi left off the firmware update for the Bose for H10 level units on 5150. So if you have a H10 version of the Bose amp, 5150 won't update it. Julian

I was just yeterday reading through MMI updates for the D4
The issue with CP for Bose is still there, the suggestion is to either A) go to manual mode and select everything except the bose before starting the update B) unhook the most cable from the bose and put a loop in its place while updating

What level is your Bose Amp firmware? [See VCDS or MMI 'red screen']. If it's at SW level 0460, 5570 won't change it. Julian

![]() All the Bose scans I've ever seen are for HW Part 4E0 035 223A, the latest software for which is 0460 dated 18/07/2005. These are identified by the MMI update CDs as [DSP]. Your HW is 4E0 035 223G H02, with firmware 120 dated 14/12/2006. Accordingly, this implies you have an amp identified by the MMI update CDs as a [DSP_D3K]. From an earlier post I can see you have MMI 5150; the 5570 CD [aka CD3] doesn't have an update for the [DSP_D3K] amp so it shouldn't go in to CP if you run it. The 5570 level updates that might apply to you are: 1) MMI [5510 -> 5570] 2) AM-FM radio [but not DAB] [620 -> 630] 3) HybridTV [119 -> 128] Julian
