Another offset "Will they fit" question
Hi everyone.
I'd like to change my 19" standard wheels for 20" staggered fitment. The wheels I like are AXE EX20 Was thinking 8.5 et40 fronts and 10 et42 rears These are the ones in question. http://www.axewheels.com/shop/axe-al...-alloy-wheels/ I'm not sure what offset is available with these rims? What would be the best considering the wheel sizes? Thanks and sorry for yet another wheel question. Last edited by Takemetothepub; 10th May 2016 at 01:21 PM. |

Common consensus is do not stagger on a quattro system!

Staggering is not the issue, the matching of rolling wheel radius / diameter is.
You need to make sure that if you stagger wheels the overall difference between front and rear wheel diameter shouldn't be more than 1% so to do that you need to fit the right profile of tyres front and back that work. on my D2 the rear wheels are 10.5" with 295 25 21 tyres and on the front they are 9" wheels with 255 30 21 tyres which is a 0.8% difference and I've been running them for a few years without any issues. The guy I bought the wheels from however had them fitted to a D3 and had fitted the same profile of tyres to both front and back and got frustrated when he kept getting ESP errors because the wheels were picking up the difference due to the stagger/profile combination being wrong

I know it doesn't affect the haldex based cars, only permanent diff based 4WD cars but didn't know it could be managed via profiles, thanks Last edited by Architex_mA8tey; 11th May 2016 at 06:40 PM. |

Purely personal preference on aesthetics, I feel a wider rear gives a better overall appearance on stance.

Staggered wheels have a deeper dish at the rear which often looks more visually appealing
