Just stating facts. That's why it will take time, which thankfully most participants seem to be being realistic about.

I see Angela Eagle has just quit.
We do need a credible opposition. Not least to participate in any negotiations but also offer an electable alternative if things get really bad.

That's not the way it works though, the EU trades as a block with common tariffs, rules etc.

Well, he did ask... foolishly perhaps. It's probably for the best anyway after what he got the last time he negotiated with the EU.

Apparently the UK has 20, or so, qualified people in International Trade as the EU did it on our behalf. I wonder how well that will go?

afraid cameron demonstrated his stupidity or maybe just arrogance

a quick poll would have demonstrated that the young overwhelmingly love an open EU ....so why did he block 16 year olds from getting the vote [ as they did in the scottish referendum for example ]

plenty of examples of referendums in other countries , some binding , some not as in the uk ; but the one thing they have in common is that , for example , 20million and 1 is not carried versus 20 million; 60% and 66% are the common figures used , some with a minimum percentage of voters having voted

anyone know if the voting was done on the same basis as parliamentary seats so that MP's know how their constituency went ? this has to pass the house of commons yet ....it ain't over until the fat lady sings and MP's won't vote against their electors , will they !

I think the analysis is by counting area which did not correspond to seats in parliament.
