Just another little "feature" of the way the RNS-D works that I can exploit somewhat.
The detection of the TV seems to only happen when you look for it and the RNS seems to remember whether it's found it last time it looked and what "mode" (Radio/CD/TV) it was in when turned off. So, if when you park up you "know" (as I do when parking on my drive) that you're going to use reverse as you leave, as you pass through reverse (heading for Park) just hit the button to preset the RNS-D to TV mode. Then when you next start up and select reverse the camera comes on automagically.  Obviously you then need to select Radio or CD if you want those and Navigation if you're going to use it. But that applies anyway. You can leave it in TV mode and have silence while using the SatNav if you prefer. Which leads me on to another though. The TV input lead to the RNS-D has stereo audio as well, standard phono connectors, I could use these for an audio input of my choice, just need to fit up a jack socket somewhere....  Where would be a good place to hide it?(My Xcarlink, awaiting refitting, may become redundant now!)

Agate Grey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, Tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors. e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course.  (internal dimming mirror added later)1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon. Added Auto-dim mirror, Leather seats, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer. And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!
