Are you comfortable around multimeter??
To check if there is voltage going to the AFS motor??
And you have AFS II by the way??

Unfortunately my ETKA is temporarily not accessible due to new OS on the PC so can't check if there are two motors, one for horizontal and one for vertical movement or just one doing both. I am looking as we speak inside the set of AFS I headlights I have and there is room for possibly second motor.
Most likely VCDS could tell us more.
Don't know what else to suggest at the moment apart VCDS scan, checking wiring/voltage, connectors (headlight and AFS ECU) and inspecting the motor.

That's all great advice.
When I remove the headlight I'll check it out with a test meter and see if there are any broken wires.
I suppose the hardest bit is trying to solder a piece in , especially if the wires towards the front of the light!.
