I wouldn't bother with the plastic guides unless you are struggling to find the isofix points. The Child Seat base will make indentations in the leather if the child seats are fitted long term but they are a necessary evil.
A good quality child seat like a Recaro won't have any rough edges underneath. You can get protectors that fit like a rubber mat under the child seat but I've never used them personally. |

Do you think putting a towel on the A8's seat and the baby seat on top is OK?

It would be fine if using isofix to secure the child seat. Just check there is no movement of the child seat.

I use a Prince Lion-heart seat protector under my child seat and it doesn't mark the leather at all. It even came in the same colour as my seats. Sorted !!

Howdy, can anyone advise on these isofix yellow bars on the max-cosi base.
I just can't get them to engage as they seem too thick for the non-existant gap in the seat and they they just grip on the leather and scrunch it up. There are definately isofix loops in place as earlier in the thread. Can anyone confirm those guides 8L0019233 help or are they just as hard to insert> Thanks. |

They do help but are inclined to mark the leather as the gap between the seat base & backrest is very tight.
A small towel or clean rag stuffed between the gap close to the isofix brackets will do the same job and can be removed once the isofix fixings have locked on to the brackets. |

Thanks for the tip - I will try that - might also order
8R0019233 Guide Funnels as above - they are no.9 on the A8 part diagram... http://www.realoem.me/Audi/CA/A8Q/20.../R/0/019/19010 4L0019819 may also be useful as underlay but a bit steep @ £30 ea. Last edited by snapdragon; 15th July 2017 at 08:53 AM. |
