![]() ![]() I need the 3.7 belts doing and there is no evidence of the water pump being done. I have priced at an independent and the £895 for belts and pump at the dealer is actually very competitive. ![]() Have searched threads for fixed price discussions, any thoughts folks? Robert

Despite my poor experience with dealerships, you should consider them if the price isn't a million miles away, if only because Audi dealerships give you a two year warranty on their work and parts.

It's been touch-and-go almost constantly with my car. I'm one of the fussiest people I know and I've landed myself with a car that was not very well treated by the previous owners. I'm working to try and bring her back to her former glory, but it's a bit of a mare at times.
I'm having my water pump and aux belt changed now too, as part of the carbon clean/service/teardown/intake/everything else. You may be able to save a little by shopping around for the price of the water pump. I'd always advocate the use of original parts (and Audi won't fit aftermarket) but you may be able to save a little. If you have the price of the parts from Audi, call around and see if you can save anything. Chris at West London Audi is an exceptional parts guy and has taken care of me since I bought my car. It may be worth giving him a call and seeing what he can do for you. If there's not a lot in it, then the peace of mind may be worth the extra few pounds. Just don't expect dealers to roll out the red carpet for you. Although our cars are our pride and joy, at a busy dealership, they're just a number on a job card. What passes for customer service is a little bottle of Audi branded water left in your car on collection. |

And main dealer will price match independents subject to conditions here https://www.audi.co.uk/owners-area/s...ice-match.html
I saved £600 on two injectors using this price match. But often, I anyway prefer and trust myself or independent more than I do the main dealer..

Wow, I didn't know that, thanks for posting the info
![]() Looking at the conditions, I notice they insist on the quote including a two year guarantee. I expect that would exclude most indies. |

Indies may not want to replace a part say 18 months in which involves 3 hours labour. It is understandable as the labour cannot be claimed on a faulty part. Audi however would have to replace FOC. |

My point really was for the "price match", not holding an indie over a barrel
