.Renting L3+ on miningrig rentals seems to have gone well consistently getting paid more that on Nicehash but it does need some input to get best out of it. I have not used their auto pricing option.. I have manually priced mine at about 5-6% higher than Nicehash 24 hr average most of the time apart from when short term Nicehash was paying out considerably more short term( it does not last long). So my rig gets rented, I set the price high for next rental and check back to adjust it when the running rental is over.

Overall my rig has been rented out for most of the time but it was not set and forget to get best out of it. When my second L3+ arrives I think I might try to use different payout addresses and auto payout to see how it compares.

There is the graph showing rented times in yellow.

also I got it a bit wrong about payout fees on miningrigrentals. Their rental fee is 3% and payout is fixed at 0.0009BTC so it's only better than Nicehash with 0.09-0.1BTC

Nice work on the GPU rig

Miningrigrentals was a good find. I've had chance to play with it myself now (on just one of the L3+ miners so far) and I've already had a couple of rentals. Like you, I've set the price manually. I'll probably keep adjusting the price upwards a little to find the spot where it makes more than it does on NH but still gets rented fairly frequently.

Strangely, I find Miningrigrentals makes me feel a lot more 'connected' with the buyers of hashing power than NH does. While it's being rented, I feel a strange sense of responsibility towards the the L3+, knowing that someone has paid to use it for a number of hours. No longer do I feel like I can turn it off and on whenever I like.

Presently I'm using the L3s own pool priority switching, with miningrigrentals as the first pool and NH as the second, to automatically fall back to NH when it's not being rented. I notice it's possible to configure fall-back pools in your miningrigrentals rig rental settings too. Are you using that or just the L3's own pool priority switching?

GTX1080Tis moved back to separate motherboard as I could not get them to work properly with splitter, maybe will have another go nest weekend wehn i have more time.

I use second pool settings both on miningrigrental website and locally with Nicehash being second and prohash third.

My second L3+ arrived today, all working fine. It was older firmware and second fan running slower and running at higher temp. I updated firmware and temps have gone lower but second fan still runs slower. Overclocked to 481MHz like the other one and running OK. For now I have just pointed it to nicehash but will probably put on miningrigrentals just need to decide if I want to combine them both up as one or to keep as 2 separate.

Well in a bit of a bust of eBay luck, I've picked up a 4x 970 mini rig and a Antminer S7 from the UK. Both a little older on tech but reasonable prices and in the profitable ranges and should give me some idea of the game without too much hassle or vast investments.
The asics box should pay back faster and was a bit cheaper, but the GPU rig is more flexible, upgradable, resale value and more home friendly!

Sods law i'm off away for a week, but that should mean they are here to play with once i'm back

The S7 is no longer profitable, if you take electricity usage into account. It costs about as much to run as it makes. It should earn you about £140 worth of BTC per month though (according to NiceHash) if the cost of electricity isn't a concern (or if you can compensate for the running costs by making use of the heat it generates).

Hi there,

In the nicehash calcs i was getting about £60 with 14p a kwh, but noticed about £160 earnings. Will probably put it at work or look at my GFs solar panel set up depending on if it's too much for my office where I currently have a fan heater.
However that's also at today's rates and I'm more in it for the longer game rather than the quick buck and i can see future rates making it more profitable
About the only thing better than the S7 is the S9 and that's just too tricky to get for me at the moment!
