Yes, I think it's definitely related to the water ingress from last year. I'm surprised the fuse didn't blow before the plug melted though.
Hopefully my original fan motor still works - I will try replacing the resistor on its own once I've sorted out the wiring. The part number for the 4-pin plug is 1J0919231 for future reference.

1J0919231 = same as EPB motor. The Audi ones are better than the cheap ones on Aliexpress or ebay.
They work fine but are pre-wired but the pins don't seem to be extractable, however they may suit you depending how you do the repair. If you need the metal pins, send me a post address PM and I will post them to you. I bought strips of them.
