You are getting into the realms of a full cat back stainless exhaust system now money wise.
You have to ask yourself - is it worth it on an old mild steel system? If you can do what you originally planned for a budget, then fine, but all the other bits and bobs in my mind would be easier to justify in having a bespoke system made by a specialist.

Ignore the tail pipes, but the silencer looks to be the factory OEM - possibly did a similar thing to your idea? Is this what you want to try and achieve sound wise?
