It won't die!
The V8's go on and on and on provided they get their scheduled maintenance, use quality oils and they're timed correctly (!). Corrosion isn't a major concern, provided you stay on top of any that crops up. The only flaw is the gearbox. Budget for that and keep driving with a smile on your face knowing you didn't have to compromise like the other 95%!
