Although the 3.0 V6 TDI, 3.2 V6, 4.2 V8 & 5.0 V10 TDI engine versions of the Phaeton used the 6-speed transmission, the 6.0 W12 stuck with the 5HP24A all the way through, right up until 2011 when the W12 version was dropped. As a result, the 5HP24A remarkably stayed in production for 13 years.
