I'm not a Facebook person so can't see that, but I presume it's a lump of what will be hard plastic fitted against the strut brace? Or will it eventually be metal?

Does this have any advantage in normal driving, e.g. better brake feel, or is it just for the really spirited driver or on-track use? If the former I'd be interested too.

Finally, are you involved in the 3D-printing attempt on the foglight grilles? I loaned my spare 1-piece set to Neil for that exercise, but wasn't sure who was doing the work.

2016 Volvo V40 T5 Cross Country (4WD) with ALL the toys including adaptive cruise etc. etc. Osmium Grey with Blonde/Charcoal leather interior. Polestar performance "optimisation". (Even rarer than a D2 S8!) Oh, and a brand new engine at just under 30,000 miles on the factory one!
Finally: gone, but not forgotten.....
1998 D2 PF S8. Agate Grey/Platinum. Every option (I think) except electric rear seats, Tiptronic steering wheel, ski hatch, towbar & dimming door mirrors.
e.g. Cruise control, NavPlus/TV, Bose, GSM, Xenons, Solar roof, Parking sensors, Alcantara/leather everywhere of course. (internal dimming mirror added later)
1998 (very early) Ford Focus 1.8 Zetec; ABS/TCS, Heated screen/mirrors, Aircon. Added Auto-dim mirror, Leather seats, Trip computer, Cruise control, OEM Ford SatNav with CD changer.
And before that a lot of Rover 800s, a few oddities, a lovely Triumph Dolomite 1850HL with Overdrive and way back in my schooldays an Austin Seven aka Mini 850!

I'll upload it to Youtube at some point. It makes an immediate improvement to the brake pedal feel without the car even moving so I think it will be of use to everyone. I'll make a thread about it

I do plan to print foglight grilles at some point yes. That's quite a big project though. We need to scan them in first, and I haven't made a scanner yet, then figure out what to print them from. The biggest challenge is how to get an acceptable surface finish on them. Straight off the printer is fine for stuff like this master cylinder brace, but not for cosmetic items. If we have to spend hours hand-finishing them then its cheaper to have them moulded, or just buy new ones.

A bit off-topic here I know, but provided "the price is right" I wouldn't worry at all about the surface finish of the 3D-printed foglight grilles.

After all, they are hardly visible being very low down, black, often dirty, and I'm sure most buyers would be happy to give the visible surface a rub down to remove obvious imperfections.

Back on the Brake Master Cylinder Block/Support, what sort of price are we looking at? Both my S8s suffered from what I felt were softish pedals when braking hard so I'm definitely interested.

+1

Given the choice between a ruddy great hole (and ruinously high cost of replacement) or a 3D-printed grille with a rough ‘n’ ready finish, I’ll take the printed grille every time! Besides, to cut labour costs, I’m sure most owners on here that ordered one would be more than willing to do their own cosmetic/polishing work themselves, to save money.

May even be worth doing some kind of swap scheme so that people would at least have matching grilles (either both printed or both genuine) if you get my meaning. Or the punter sends you their single remaining genuine grille and you supply 2 printed grilles at a reduced rate. Of course if someone orders a certain side grille and you happen to have genuine, then could offer to sell that one to them. Something along those lines..
