Ah Covea. I've just spend a couple of weeks arguing with them over the value of the toasty D3, they are definitely on another planet.
They went ahead without authorisation and paid the finance company before I'd agreed to settle I debating raking them through the ombudsman for that, but finally got a figure that was passable and by then I'd had enough. They also kept insisting on being sent the V5, despite me pointing out that *I* needed it to transfer the car once settlement was agreed, as *I* was responsible. I get the feeling that's another strongarm tactic - we've got all your paperwork so we can do what we like. In the end to shut them up I sent them a V5, just not the latest one after plate retention so of no use had they tried anything. Hope you get the result you're looking for. Hang on.
Why are you personally dealing directly with the third party, covea... ? I would expect that either your insurance company (preferable) would be doing it, or worst case, you hand it off to one of the million ambulance chasing collectors out there for them to go and argue your case. ?

Me too.... I was surprised, but it clearly has autodim rear view, but door mirrors are heated/fold/electric but no dimming.....
The 3.7 is a funny one though for spec. Sometimes we get a bit carried away with the 4.2s/S8's and think lots of stuff is standard when its just not...

Yes, I could have instructed Aviva to deal with them, but for now I decided to go to 3rd party directly although Aviva advised that it'll be the 'same thing' if I go through them.
I'ts a good next step to sic ambulance chasing collectors dogs on them!

At some point of time mirrors were replaced and I'm wondering why, why? It's same engine and same gearbox too.

Possibly one has been damaged or vandalised (could be in line with the door being resprayed). The correct mirrors would have been expensive or hard to find so the owner went with the cheaper option and replaced both with a lower spec?

That is in line with resprayed area that Mikki has identified.

If you have not already taken courtesy car make sure you do and ask for similar class of car. If they are paying out £150-200 per day for you to have D4, 7 series or S Class, they are much more likely to settle for a better deal instead of dragging it on as it will cost them £1k+ per week.

I already played this card to articulate to them their cost avoidance benefit of not providing me bmw 7 series at £1к per week

I don't think it works that way.
You have to ask for courtesy car and use it then they will try to do a quick settlement. If you have not taken courtesy car they will not give you anything for saving them money and they will not have incentive to do a quick deal, they can just drag it on as it costs them nothing or very little for the extra time. You need to make sure dragging it on will cost them.
