It's at £3.5k with 2 hours to go, so already too high for what it's worth.
The punters who are bidding either see it as a cheap S8 or just want it for a while and will sell it on. Only enthusiasts/forum members will take the gearbox into account. Same goes for the D3 S8, only certain people will take the manifold delete/decoke into account.

The winning bidder initially bid up to £650 and then £1500. Once outbid, they then bid again to around £4k. They have won it at £3900...hmmm. Either they really wanted this car or the shill bidding has gone wrong and will be re-listed again

I really hope someone buys a saves this car. If I had the space I'd offer him 4k, park it in a corner somewhere and just drink beer and stare at it. I really do like deep red, maroon cars. The millage is gonna make it difficult to justify throwing lots of money at it though. Nevertheless, a thing of beauty. In my opinion.

It is impressively original...... and a nice exterior colour. Spec and interior colour are less impressive.
Its a bit time warp really as many have been fettled with over the years. It could be an absolute gem. The last S8 I had was a very high motorway miler, and it was genuinely the tightest, most responsive D2 S8 I ever remember driving. Or it could be a money pit. But from the advert alone, we will never know....
