Hi Clive, I'm new on this forum and very happy to read your post because I planed to make the same mod on my S8.
Did you sell the R8 steering wheel beacause of the airgab problem?

 Yes, that's exactly why I didn't proceed with that mod.

So if I understood well : it's not the same connector for airbag or is it the stage 1 / stage 2 airbag problem who stopped you?
