I am not sure having a plaque saying "D2 Doctored" would work, could it not be construed as the car has been "doctored" in the wrong way?

Each to his own, but I’d love one! Similar to the rear quarter light stickers for A8 Freunde and our UK A8/S8 one.

Need something akin to the build sticker to show all the work MJ undertook. Maybe use a similar lettering system to identify each task? Every one would be unique.

I was thinking you could add a PR code of D2D on the build sticker but it already exists in VAG option codes!

MoT passed with the new O2 sensors
Next is a trip to a local detailer for an assessment on the paint, to see what it takes to bring it back to its best. |

I've been thinking that its probably worth changing the fuel pump, since its sat for so long. Obviously merely thinking that prompted the pump to fail on the single track lane up to my house
Luckily I had a spare, so walked to the workshop, got some tools and a backup car, and changed it by the side of the road. The reason I was out and about was to get an assessment on the paintwork from a local detailer who specialises in paint recovery Before - etching all over the place from having sat outside for so long After a test patch - like glass! The car is booked in for the full multi-stage paint correction in a couple of weeks As prep for the paintwork being sorted I made a start on the brightwork which was also a tad faded It came up very well Back bumper |

Heavy cut compound to start, then Gtechniq metal polish to refine, applied with a mini polisher, and finished off with wax which adds a bit of definition and helps the finish last.
I do want to experiment with ceramic as a final step but I'm not sure it'll add the richness of wax. It needs some tinkering, since it'll last longer than wax. |
