I'm assuming that any of the bright work that's gone milky will not come up ,and have to be swapped ?

Yes, the boot trim and the left rear bumper trim have totally failed - they're down to raw aluminium now and won't come back. Oddly most of the right side comes up really well but the left is still a bit dull so I'll probably remove most of the left stuff and have another go at it off the car. If it won't brighten up then I have plenty spare so I'll just replace it.
