My first engine swap after cambelt failure. 1996 4.2 A8SQ - Ming Blue. 178k on a cambelt! Trader's 8. Delivered to A8Parts at Lifex. 2003 2.8 A8SQ - powder blueish. Fill in for a while. Sold on. 1998 1.8T A4 Avant FWD. Ming Blue (there's a theme here), PEX for the 97 S8. And a list of non VAG going back 40 years before I saw the light.

Yeah unfortunately none of the headunits available will be plug and play as the D2 is unique on many levels..
I have met up with MJ at her amazin workshop to do some other mods and once we have everything finalised I think we will create another more concise thread with a simple how to, depending on what head unit/setup you want to go with. If this radio didn't cost so much I would have given up too, but I already stepped into this mess with one foot so I might as well take it through to completion and make other people's lives easier.

Liking that USB audio filter.....i get some USB hums and pops in my cinema from having PI plugged in for controlling a bass DSP and it may help!
