Regarding the drop links, have you ever thought of poly bushing them or do you prefer original rubber ones? The drop links seem to be similar to ones used in many Audis, I know my S8 (D3) is exactly the same as an A6 diesel of the same era

Their life is short enough as it is without adding poly in to the mix. I'm not sure it would gain anything in handling, since there isn't much movement in the rubber anyway, and poly under that much movement wouldn't last very long. They are used on loads of things so I think it is still best to use good quality rubber versions.
There used to be a balljointed version but that superceded to the rubber one because it lasted even less time, and was a complete pain to change. I think the offset may explain why some cars just eat through them and some don't, but its very hard to tell when they are on the car, especially with it jacked up. |

Finished the rest of the floorpan
The sealant in the engine bay is working nicely Before putting the engine back in I will replace this foam while it's easy to get to While working on cleaning the old foam, I realised I hadn't done Botang's hole ![]() ![]() Ended up with it nice and clean though so I can fill it in tomorrow and put the engine back in. |
