I find stop-start to be fine on our Mk7 Golf, BUT stop-start combined with hill hold assist is a complete pain in the arse. There is virtually no point to HHA on an auto, aside from the fact that you can take your foot off the brake pedal and not blind those sitting behind you with the high level brake light.

In our Golf with both HHA and stop-start active needs you to really understand how the systems are working together to use them without jolting progress. If you stop with both active, you need to give the throttle a gentle tap before you set off, to wake the engine up, then a 2nd gentle tap to release the brakes. Then it's fine. Try to do both together and it'll lurch forward with a jolt. If you really want to mess with your brain having ACC working as well can make it fairly nasty to use, if you're not understanding the interactions between the systems.

The only time I use HHA is if I'm stuck in a traffic jam on the motorway/a major A road, so it's off more than it's on. If I'm setting off on a very steep slope I'll put the parking brake on and rely on auto-release.

I read a complaint in The Register from a Toyota owner.
When he uses the system that reads road speed limit signs to control his car's speed. It sees a speed-limit sticker on the back of a truck, trailer etc and uses that at its speed limit
Not an issue on our Merc, nor did the VW ever misinterpret the back of trucks in this way.

I'm doing the same Ainar, but next Tuesday in Manchester.

As far as getting it to the annual meet, that's one for this/next year's organisers . It took a fair bit of persuasion to get both Audi and Tesla to pitch up at the Portmeirion meet, though I think it was worth it

I did not go after seeing video on YouTube when it was in London. It was cordoned off, could not get close, touch or get in it so decided not worth going.

Last night I was at a petrolhead mini-meet in Buckingham of all places, mainly an excuse to have a good curry and talk car bollocks for a couple of hours.
One of the guys rolled up in an electric Kia, can't even recall what model (and does it matter?). Turned out it was on rental; provided by his work as he was travelling some distance daily to a project for a few weeks and wasn't prepared to use one of his own tasty cars to do the journey.

Anyway, the point is, he said he was mightily impressed by it. This is someone who has a Porsche among others, used to run a D2 A8 4.2, whose father had a D2 S8 and now has a D4, etc. etc.

PS He reckons the D2 was the best car he's ever had.

Kia , along with Renault, currently make the best EVs, in my opinion: I'd take an EV from them ahead of any of the German manufacturers current products, any day.
