I rarely have the radio (or music) on so hadn't noticed anything amiss.
SatNav directions were sounding normal. ![]() Testing the speakers by changing balance and fader I've narrowed it down to the nearside front (door) speaker(s) which are producing just a faint tinny sound. Drivers side is good as are the rears, which is why I hadn't really noticed. Where would you start trying to track down and fix this. Have the RNS out and reseat the speaker plugs first? I can't recall exactly how the plugs fit but I don't expect it's easy to swap left and right. ![]() Note: Probably relevant/important that this is NOT a Bose system so I think the front speakers are driven directly by the RNS. So it should be the 8-pin connector next to the multi-block/multi-colour connector and specifically the pair nearer the fuse.

A bit of hassle, as there's not a lot of length to those looms, and you'll be trying to remove them, whilst the loom is pretty much still in the slot where the RNS-D sits. Then again, removing the door card to get at the speaker is no easy task either.

Sean, I'm thinking that if "reseating" the block connector doesn't work I'll make up some short patch leads male-to-female spade connectors (of the right size).
Then I can connect the RNS-D outputs to the "other" sockets on the loom. That should tell me if the issue is in the RNS or the wiring/speakers. I've had the RNS in and out a few times (though not recently) so it could just be that the connector isn't fully pushed home.

It's probably the speaker itself if you hear faint sound. I think the sound you hear is from the tweeter but the main speaker has either gone or disconnected. I would open the door and either take the speaker out and connect it to another source like home system for testing or get another speaker and connect it to the wiring in the door.
