I dont know, I kind of like it naturally aspired. the B6 S4 manual got to 60 in under 5 seconds (according to Motor Trend Mag), I bet if you converted the S8 to manual and dropped some kilos it could do it under 5 seconds. No need to mess with the engine.

Was hoping to see their 8 at ADI. In theory I should be able to make more meets this year as she passed her last MOT.

I managed a 7.2sec 0-60 plugged into VagCom (not bad for a big old girl) and I had the extra weight of the laptop in there too. But it’s the 70/80 to 130 that I think they are quick. Well it’ll hold it’s own with an Exige and there’s nothing to them.

Its probably faster than that, +/-1.94s is a huge margin of error.
Looking on the web 0-60 should be somewhere between 6.1 and 6.3 sec?
I really want to get a Performance box, its got a 10hz gps capability so should have a +/- 0.1s error.

Well i personally don't think it's far away she's an old bus with a full tank of fuel. Just wondering though if we take the time off the 0-60should we take it off the 1/4 mile? The reason i ask is i have friend that race. Below are a couple of times, the Split 1 is a 1/4 so if we take the 1.89 off my 15.3 1/4 mile the 8 is quicker than one of those M3 do dars that Amar likes

Car Driver Type Launch Split 1 Speed Run Time

18 Chris Vinall Mitsubshi Lancer EVO 6 1998CC
Practice 2.30 14.41 100 108.10
Practice 2.30 14.51 97 107.05
Event 2.37 14.73 97 106.71
Event 2.50 14.86 97 106.25

20 Gary Dawkins BMW M3 3200CC
Practice 2.84 14.78 100 114.54
Practice 2.70 14.35 103 110.32
Event 2.76 14.40 101 110.18
Event 2.68 14.33 103 109.18

I'm sorry about the format of this but it looks right befor i hit the save button, for some reason the system takes out my spaces.

Its margin of error, so yes it can go both ways, your 1/4 mile is anywhere between 13.41 to 17.19. If Car and Driver really did do 0-60 in 5.8sec (maybe there's a technique to launching an auto?), thats almost the same time as Mike posted (Toby's times) on Tyresmoke at Inters (5.78s)
http://www.tyresmoke.net/forum/audi-...8s-inters.html

His 1/4 mile was 14.4s

So if the S8 and ultra-light A8 0-60 times are the same maybe the 1/4 mile is too. Although I do agree with you that the age of a car will have some effect.

By the way, check this out, so much for the M3

Also some 0-60 calculators just for fun, first one is optimistic.
