Two part numbers are available for RHD cars:

1. 8P2 713 141 C QBZ -- perforated leather. My knob.

This is RS6-only knob.

2. 8P2 713 141 C SKH -- non-perforated leather. Used on RS6 cars with heated steering wheel (PR code 2ZD). I don't think there's heating element in this knob, since price difference isn't noticeable. It is actually cheaper. Most probably they just wanted to match style of heated steering wheel, as heated steering wheels are made of non-perforated leather. Picture of LHD car with non-perforated knob is here:

http://forums.audiworld.com/showthread.php?t=2790851

This knob is actually used in the following cars: Audi A3, S3, A6, S6, RS6 and Q7

Anyone know if there are colour options? Lovely mod, but not in a beige interior perhaps?

Could we call it a gear change leaver attachment please. This thread is stating to sound a bit homoerotic!

>> My darling wife keeps saying I should get a high quality knob

Perfect. We're all set. Now we have great explanation for women of where the money goes. The essential missing part of the write up.

>> Anyone know if there are colour options? Lovely mod, but not in a beige interior perhaps?

No color options, only leather type.

I have "swing grey" interior. Close to beige. I would say black leather matches climate control color and knob metal matches polished metal of gearbox trim. IMHO should match any interior since gearbox trim is always chrome and climate is always black.

Old knob (sorry, I just can't call it "change lever attachment"):

I think the black leather looks on the change lever attachment looks better than the grey one in my car.
