Just phoned Glasgow Audi about this and they said "we have no updates outstanding for that car at all". Mine is a 2002 (02) S8, so why no gear selector/coil pack issue do you think? Is it worth phoning another stealer?

I don't think I've ever heard 'helpful'and 'Glasgow Audi' used together before!
They are absolute charlatons and, for the hell of it, I'll bring letters from them about my old A6 to the meet that will make your hair curl! Might also scan them and put them here. Even other Scottish Audi stealers make it clear to you that they have nothing to do with Glasgow Audi!

Good stuff - they'll only change ones that haven't previously been done with updated parts, but could potentially be all of them. I knew on my A6 I'd changed 1 of them previously so was expected they would change 5 on it.
I lifted the engine covers on my S8 recently and the coil packs on the D2 are quite clearly a different design to the ones this recall applies to, so explains why no D2 S8 has needed this doing.

This is a very late discovery for me but ive ordered new coil packs for my car and plugs. But i will phone up audi tomorrow and find out if the w12 is able to have it all done under the recall
 that may save me a packet
