what about a squeegi or however you spell it i use one for the windows but its harder than the soft ones you can get for body work from say halfords ect.... i will try that the water marks that are all ready there are the hard ones to remove i wash the car over and over and seems to look good then it dries and they re- appear again

Automotive clay is a bar of specially formulated clay that you use after youve washed the dirt from your car - sometimes you can run your hand over the surface and it doesnt feels smooth still and that is down to tiny bits of dirt bonded to the paintwork. claying is the process of using this clay bar with a lubricant and running it over the surface so that the clay picks up the ingrained dirt. you should do this before you use a porter cable to remove any swirls etc in the paint and then build back up the polish to the surface after.
