Default stalling when on 1/4 tank

a while back i had a issue with the tracker disabling the fuel pump and i thought it was a faulty pump.i removed the pump to check it over and reinstalled it.now for the past few months the car will die from no fuel although the low petrol light hasnt come on and also when going down a hill, or if the car has been left on i hill nose first it wont start.not sure if the pump needs to be calibrated or if theres a blockage. but other day was stuck in traffic on a downhill, gauge said 1/4 tank light wasnt on.yet heard the pump running loud suddenly and the car stalled after a min and wouldnt start.

Fuel pump is not seated properly and because of that suction jet pumps are not working and not sucking fuel from other side of tank. Or fuel level sensor float gets caught i wires or hoses in tank and does not drop below 1/4 tank reading even if there is no fuel.

When it stalls, how much fuel do you need to add to fill the tank, ie is the tank 1/4 full or actually empty?

Either pump itself in fuel delivery unit or fuel delivery unit in bottom tray or the small pipe on the side. PM your e-mail to me and I will send you pdf, it is too big to attach here 464KB. Max allowed here for pdf's is 195KB

thanks

i got hold of the same diagram off elsa win earlier and removed it and checked everything last night. when reinstalling the pump when i had issues with it earlier this year (ended up being the tracker disabling the pump) i forced it a bit too much seperating the pump from the housing.so corrected it and made sure seals are ok and everything is seated ok.
drove it to work this morning on 2nd white bar from red so looking good.if it still has issues thinking of changing the sender unit as elsa says replace it if the top seperates from the base when removing the pump which mine has done.

im not sure how much fuel it had in it when it cut out, i never checked.if it does it again will check hope it doesnt.

There are 2 fuel level senders one on each side. If it cuts out again open the one on left, it is easier and check if there is fuel in tank on that side. If it is empty then one or both senders are giving wrong readings, if there is fuel on left side then jet suction pumps are not working and not pumping fuel to the other side most likely because something is not seated properly.
