Small screen satnav questions
My 2001 3.7 Quattro sport has the basic small screen satnav which is currently using a 2006 Nav CD. My car came without any manuals except the Service Book and loads of receipts.
Question 1, can you enter at least part postcodes into the destination entry. if you can how is this done, so far I have only managed Town > Street > intersection type entry. Question 2, can you turn the volume up of the announcements from the tiny speaker on the B pillar. She is currently pretty quiet and hard to hear above the Bose sound system. If you can how do you this. Question 3. 2007 is the last disc available for this nav, is it worth updating to this last version or should I just not bother using it and use a tomtom / retrofit a newer unit.

1) Yes, but depends on disc version. Newer ones can. You enter the partial postcode in the town entry. If you cant enter it there, an update will likely help that.
2) Volume settings on the unit - When in there you can set the volume for sat nav, telephone etc. 3) If it is a 2001 car, then you should have an RNS-D. If this is the case, you take the Travelpilot DX discs, which are still current. 2007 was the last issue of the Travelpilot (non dx) which was used on PF cars and early FL cars with RNS-C (1999/2000) Hope that helps....

Thanks for the reply,
The system I have uses the travelpilot non DX discs I believe and has no headunit control in that the car has a Symphony headunit. To enter destinations I need to use the controls situated in the cup holder compartment and then use the small screen between the rev counter and speedo. The CD is located in a module located in the boot above the CD changer. I have just popped out and ejected the CD and its labled as "Navigation CD 2006" Compatible with Blaupunkt Travel Pilot.

Oh... You have one of the text based Navigation things.
In that case, I wouldnt waste a second longer on it tbh.... You best two options are a tom tom, or to rip out the chorus head unit and replace it with the factory RNS-D, which is a relitively easy retrofit in your case.
