Well it's out of the bag now! I'm just sat in a diner waiting to meet Ranj, for him to have his first run in the car. Never have I felt seller's remorse like this. Sat in the car on the way here, really didn't want to let go.

He's getting one hell of a car!

He will love it, I'm picky. Especially when it comes to D2s and I gave it the seal of approval. Told him he made a great decision. I've been telling him to get a facelift S8 for ages now rather then pouring money into the A8.

Amar, are you considering a new A1 perchance?

We're looking to upgrade the SO's Mini, been to Sytner Cov today, also called in at Cov Audi to look at the A1 and for the first time yet actually managed to speak with a decent salesman.

Considering a 1.4 122ps Auto, can't decide on Sport or S Line and exact spec

I've done a report on the A1 Sarg, Audi flew me out to Munich and I got to test it before it was launched here. Great car, Ranj drove that and a new Mini and ordered the Mini for his sister - fully loaded. He thought the Mini was better but I drove the Mini and A1 back to back in Munich and thought the Audi was better. The report is here somewhere.

Love this photo

Stop it, you're making me sick

Had a smooth drive home watching the weather bounce off the car. Definitely beginning to doubt my sanity.

Anyhow, deal signed off and deposit taken. The countdown to departure has begun...

Default Mini and A1

The A1 is a grown ups car and the mini is a fun car....
I was totally taken in by the mini experience...and a salesman's dream I have to say....but i dont regret it one bit....

I think the bmw deisel in the new mini is far superior than the 1.4 in the a1

Plus...you get such fun extras to make it look chic...i just couldnt resist...!!!!!!!!

Stick with the mini...so much more for the money...shame about depreciation!!!!!!!!!

Anyhw enuf about sister's car....cant wait for the s8 to arrive....just need to make space for it...hence the change in heart with the a8....

Something terribly sensible.

Plan is to sell my two current cars and buy a 2 yr old quick diesel for the time being. Been thinking about a Jaguar XF 3.0d or Merc C350CDI Sport and having driven both, I don't know what to do. I've discounted all the other similar cars, don't like the BMW 3 or 5, nor the A4, A5 or A6. With the money I save on Fuel and Insuring,Taxing etc the 2nd car, it practically pays for itself.

The Jag is extremely smooth and has the better interior, the Merc has more toys and is a bit more nimble and quicker. I'm sat here trying to choose as I have the chance of cracking C350, but I'm still a bit reluctant to commit.
