Brian, Check out Chameleon Metal Coatings in Renfrew, really good service and decent price for sameday on all 5 wheels.

So now, I know I can go 15 miles on 0 range, though I seldom do. Once 0 appears, I fill up. In emergency situations, when I can't find 98/99 RON fuel, I will drive on 0 range for up to 15 miles till I get the high octane stuff. My '98 S8 achieved 426 miles consistently on a full tank, conversely my '96 4,2 QS consistently achieved a lot less - 390 miles. No error codes, regularly serviced, and I was the second owner. It had all the services bar three done at the supplying Audi dealership - Martins of Basinstoke. The other three were carried out by Colindale Audi. This would suggest the 40V engines are more efficient - they are Euro III, some late ones Euro IV (not including early pre-FSI D3).

Have a read of one of the old S8 reviews, I like reading these even after I bought the car.
Also my personal feeling is, dont ruin it with LPG. It will make some maintenance procedures more difficult, not sure if it will reduce performance as well - others may know. http://www.caranddriver.com/reviews/audi-s8-road-test The Insideline review is a good read too, http://www.insideline.com/audi/s8/20...1-audi-s8.html and another, comparison vs Mercedes and BMW, http://www.roadandtrack.com/tests/co...ve-star-sedans Last edited by Goran; 12th March 2012 at 07:21 PM. |

As for LPG - I am no expert (certainly not from high power cars as the S8) - LPG does have its problems, but if installed and maintain correctly it does save a bundle of ££ and allow myself to enjoy the car more, by allowing it to do what it does best (using most of its BHP) and flooring it as and when it is required ![]() |
