Default Seatbelt height adjuster

Hi,

My drivers side seatbelt height adjuster doesn't work. You can hear the motor working but no movement.

Is this a common fault and is it as simple as a linkage coming off/loose etc?

Not a real problem really but it's about the only thing wrong with the car and want to sort it.

Just looking for some advice before pulling the trim off.

TIA

John

Not a problem I've heard of before, should be easy to pop the trim off and see though

The motor is situated low down behind the lower B pillar trim and is connected to the upper height adjustnment mechanism by a cable with a plastic cog on either end. The plastic cogs can wear out as they get brittle and their teeth fall off! If you have motor noise then it almost certainly is the drive mechanism that has failed.

Very easy to swap over too just be careful not to damage the upper part of the top B pillar trim removing it there are some tricky little screws which means you need to remove the upper roof side trim first to get at them

We have them in stock so give us a call!

I know just how it feels!

Sorry David - I'm sure it worked OK when I had it, but I've taken that trim off before on the old A8 if you need a hand.

That post had me wondering too..... I thought that the David at A8 Parts would kinda know how to get the trim off.

Sounds like "The Laird" is going a tad doo-lally like his colleague in a similarly big stately home, Lord Bath
