Car has gone to Audi today as think I want the ignition system checked out for piece of mind... when I get it back I will post some pictures....

Dude, relax.

One of them arms being broken isn't going to destroy your engine, buy some new arms of Nollywood and fit them when they arrive. I bet there are loads of S8 owners driving around with broken actuator arms, blissfully unaware. Why are you getting the ignition system checked? Your worrying about nothing.

There is most likely something else wrong with the car, only problem from broken arms would be reduced torque under certain rpm ranges.
