My worst car? Had to be the gutless Ford Orion 1.4 Equipe, yes, it was a poofy maroon colour, but by christ it was gutless!! And that was it's biggest flaw to be honest. It looked nice enough, but it just had no go in it.
My car ownership list goes a little something like this: 1989 - LHD BMW 520 - not bad from the <1.0 metro I learned to drive in Mk5 2.0 Cortina - £150 - battered, bruised, but with a twin Weber, she went like stink Volvo 240 - cracking car, finally nicknamed the bruise as I owned her in Sardinia, where the drivers are not particularly brilliant :ahem: Rover SD1 2.6 - loved this. Even now I'm surprised at how low these things sit. But by 'eck, she was a fantastic car, that I'd still buy today The Orion - 'nuff said Granada Scorpio 2.9 - the fully loaded hatchback, not the 24v saloon....still fast as feck though 1998 - Passat 1.8 Petrol 2000 - Audi A8 4.2QS - Still own her after 8 1/2 years.....:smileylove: Works - Volvo S60 - quick, but seriously underspecced in soooo many areas Works - Audi A6 2.0Tdi S-Line Avant - needed more power, but great car 2001 - Audi 2.8QS LPG'd - let's not go there 1988 - Audi 80 1.9 Tdi - Dead engine....fancy chucking a 4.2 v8 in it? 2006 - Audi A8 3.0Tdi - Lovin' her just now....just wanna tweak it |

Ford Focus ST170 would be my worst! Noisy, gutless, unreliable, badly built, horrible green dials, uncomfortable, annoying!!!!!

I have had many dodgy ones but to be fair that was probably because when I was younger I was either not able to afford anything decent in the first place or not able to afford to maintain them properly.
Most dreadful modern cars I have driven recently have been loan cars, the worst of which were Ford Ka, Peugeot 207, Vauxhall Astra diesel. My old man had an Allegro in a lovely mustard colour with lovely beige velour interior mix that with the trend in those times for clothes made from man made fibres and you had a static nightmare on board Oddly enough two of my favourites from my past were also the most troublesome, Rover SD1 and an early mid life crisis induced Fiat Coupe, and even more oddly they were almost exactly the same colour.

Fiat 124 'Sport' Looked dreadful, uncomfortable, handled like a brick - dangerous even with front wheel torque steer like nothing else I've ever driven. Rust box as well. Better I suppose than the Seat version or even the Lada!

Blimey, there's some interesting company cars there S4_Sat!
My list, in chronological order: 1972 Triumph 1500 FWD in dark blue - bought as a scrapper for £125 Summer 1986, spent the next 12 months rebuilding and renovating including full body rebuild and respray, and complete engine rebuild, in time for me to start learning to drive Summer 1987. Ran it until some idiot t-boned me at a junction and wrote if off. Of course I loved this car, was gutted when it got written off 1978 Renault 12 in light blue - bought for £90 to replace the Triumph, total bag of nails, had a leaking piston ring so usually ran on only 3 cylinders, but it was good at jumping hump-back bridges Engine eventually seized, then scrapped Various 1980's Lada company cars (got a job selling Ladas and Protons). Not as bad as some say, rwd handling could be quite entertaining, most of our demos had twin choke Webers fitted to give them a bit more guts Various late 80's Renault 5 and 19 company cars (moved to a Renault dealership) 1988 Vauxhall Cavalier in dark blue - bought at auction, on the way home, my friend who gave me a lift to pick it up, ran into the back of it at a roundabout. Grrrr. Had it repaired and sold it at auction 4 months later for a small profit! 1988 BMW 316 in black - my first 'proper' car, great car but a big gutless, struggled to get to 100mph, but took me on a nice roadtrip to Prague, Budapest and back home. Px for: 1988 Renault 21 Turbo in white - seriously quick, never failed to make me smile, sold it privately and took in px: 1986 Volvo 340 in silver - ran it for a few months, then donated to my younger brother for him to learn to drive, and in return received the family: 1983 BMW 520i in white - this car was a great car too, had been in the family since 3 years old, we still had it past 20 years old and it still ran beautifully - the pre-VANOS BMW straight 6s were smooth as silk 1995 BMW 328i Sport in dark blue - bought new (business was good back then), another truly great car, but not without problems, left it behind with the business when I sold out 1990 BMW 535i Hartge in black - seriously quick and loud 1999 Alfa GTV Twin Spark in dark blue - could not pass a garage without breaking down - great car but seriously flawed 2002 VW Golf GTDI 150 in dark blue - gearbox failed at 40k, replaced under warranty, eventually returned (legitimately) to finance company as could not sell it for more than settlement figure 2003 BMW Z4 3.0i in black - another great great car, my first taste of convertibles 2000 A8 4.2 QS in silver - sold the Z4 to raish cash for a house purchase, after seeing the original Transporter film I decided a big limo was for me, and having failed to find a nice enough 7-series, settled on the QS and kept this for longer than any other car I've ever had, but no surprise the gearbox eventually gave up the ghost and was scapped to Poland in 2011 2002 Porsche Boxster 2.7 Tiptronic S in black, current car Which was the worst? Easy, the Renault 12 was a total dog. Best was probably the A8, and that's why I kept it so long (about 5 years) but there are several there which I'd gladly buy back again. |

list below, probably more i cant remember
Ones I hated the most - Montego though almost new it was a crappy tin can, theres not many about now and with good reason and the Mini clubman - hated it with a passion, thought they were supposed to be fun, not for me, no room, horrible ride, no idea how they have lasted have to say the best times were being 18 - 20 and having the chrysler charger (unlike most cars of the time they had elec seats air con etc) and the xjs but wouldnt swap the 8 for them this is the only pic i have and unfortunately after my g/fs dad had an accident in it. ---------------------------------------------------------- Triumph 2000 72 Ford Escort mk2 76 Ford Cortina Mk3 76 RHD Aussie Chrysler Charger 5.9 Litre Rover SD1 3.5 with big foldback sunroof (was it called webasto?) Jaguar XJS Audi 100 Toyota cant remember what it was Montego Ford Granada Scorpio Jaguar XJ6 4.2 Saab convertible (Skip on wheels) original 1960's mini clubman Jaguar XJ6 4.2 - used more oil than petrol BMW 328 BMW 530 Msport VW Golf Rover 820 Cherokee Jeep BMW 328 Saloon Audi A8
