I would take it Chris but you'd be better off trying to find someone else as i don't think they are worth anymore than 50 notes secondhand. I know they cost shed loads from Audi but i got a brand new after market one for under 100. So for this reason i have not offered as i don't wish to offend.

Unfortunatly Audi's silly pricing when stuff is new commands the price of secondhand parts which is a shame. Is a secondhand Audi one really worth 3 times more than a brand new one just because it's got rings on it.

I don't know i'm from Devon and i squeek when i walk so difficult for me to understand

Is it full kit?

1. I.e. does electrical harness come with it? Electrical relays?
2. Installation manual?
3. Can I see pictures?
4. Do I need to change 'lower skirt' of rear bumper?
5. How about plastic cover below lower skirt of rear bumper? Should I cut hole in it? Does your kit include OEM plastic cover with proper hole?
6. How much do you want for your kit?

Many thanks.

Hi

Its not a kit, just the old one from my written off car. It has four of the six necessary mounting bolts - the other two come when you remove/replace the bumper. Plus two major bolts to hold the swan neck to the bar. It has no installation manual, and the length of socket cable is around 1M. No relays. On my PF it just connected to the existing loom at the rear of the car.

It was fitted by my local garage in France - sound but not the best. They cut a small U-shape in the rear skirt for the swan neck to exit.

It is however pretty much as I bought it from A8 Parts earlier this year, so I guess my bad if I overpaid. I'd be surprised to see another bar as solid and heavy and which fits as well as this one - but I have limited experience of this sort of thing.

I paid £300 plus shipping and I'd like to get £225 plus shipping. Currently the tow bar is near Stroud [where the Barge was scrapped] so could meet or courier

Cheers

Many thanks for clarification.

Since I have facelift without any pre-wiring my situation is more complicated and as I don't have immediate need to tow anything I need to postpone this upgrade.

Good luck with sale.

Sorry Chris i didn't mean you to think you'd over paid for this, it is a genuine one after all. It's my way of thinking is all.

But thinking about what i've just typed and your previous post if you’ve had to cut the bumper skirt it’s not a genuine one, as these are swan necked enough to miss the bumper. Also they don’t have bolts holding the bar to the bracket (cross member) and i think the electrics are sprun loaded so disappear when not in use.

Here’s a photo of a genuine type

Here is a pic of the non genuine towbar couldn't find a proper pic of the full assembly

this is my 8 showing her bum when i fitted my GDW bar, you can just make out where the towbar bolts between the brackets on the crossmember

Do you mean the one i fitted? If so then no the electrics are not sprung but are far enough up under the bottom edge of the bumper you can't see it. Makes it a little hard to see the socket when plugging in, but far amount of use i can nearly always find it blind. Normally raining whan i can't find it and have to drop a knee on the wet ground to see under, as soon as my knee's wet it goes in the socket
