Quick update. MMI screen has continued to hibernate, making occassional half hearted attempts to join in the fun of my daily commute. I have received the replacement cogs and now have one in brass and one in steel.
I've booked the car in next week to be 'done' having decided not to try it myself. The steel cog came with some fairly clear looking instructions so fingers crossed the cog is the problem and the garage are able to get my MMI screen working again. I'll post back afterwards and if the instructions prove to be any good I'll add them to my post. ![]() |

Have you had chance to look at this yet ?,
Just wondering because i was considering one of those gears as well as i think mines gone, i did read brass is the best one to use.

Hi
It's going in tomorrow to hopefully be fixed. I have a brass cog and a stainless steel one. The brass one came with translated instructions which are quite muddled but some helpful pics. The ss one has an easier to follow set of instructions. I'll post back and let you know how it goes. |

I picked the car up this morning. The screen now operates as it should. The original nylon cog had lost a tooth, which was the cause of my problem. This has now been replaced with one of the metal ones I had

The repair was 4 hours labour and completed at an independent garage in Surrey.
