I'm currently sourcing parts for this conversion and I'm a little hung up on the pedals. I thought someone said that the b5 s4 pedals work to convert the s8 cluster to manual but I have an s4 pedal assembly sitting next to an a8 pedal assembly and there is no way this is going to work. I've been looking a parts diagrams for all us based manual cars and none of them look like the a8 manual pedal. Any ideas/tips?

Also, did you get what you needed from the bently?

Just get a Audi original clutch pedal, and keep the other pedals you already have. I assume you are in the USA?
The only thing you may need to do is if you dont like the large brake pedal, take the rubber shoe off and cut down the shoe plate, and fit a small rubber shoe.

Thanks for the part number, I actually have etka international and can find the part numbers my problem is where do I order them from? My brother is the sales manager at an Audi dealer here in the states and his parts guy said they can't order non-us parts.

That is a bit tricky. Do you know anyone trustworthy in Europe that could buy it for you?

Default A8parts

I tried them for the trim that would go around the shifter for an a8/s8 and they said they couldn't get it. I'll send them a full list of parts that I need and see what they say. Thanks!

Can anyone look over this thread discuss thoughts on the coding, etc., in order to get the cluster/cruise control to operate correctly for a manual swap? I think I have a solid handle on it but am unsure.

Thanks for posting this, I didn't even realise the ABS/ESP module had a separate code for Auto/Manual.

I found this on Rosstech. After we recode the Engine chip to manual, we need to recode the ABS/ESP chip to Manual.
Seems like all that needs to change is last digit in the 5-digit code. It should be 7 currently for auto, and we need to re-code it to 5.
Looks like this ABS/ESP chip needs a log in to change the code.
I know it says for A4, but it seems the A8 codes are the same?

There is a car being broken with a DQT box on ebay. I was tempted to get it and pinch its 6th gear, but its too far up north to be worth it, still cheaper to buy brand new 6th.
Here it is if anyone else is game for a conversion:

I slowly started modifying the pedal box. I cut the brake pedal spring mount.
This will have to be welded on the opposite side and I will have to get a mirror image spring made.

The A3 over-centre clutch pedal spring now has room to move.
Next step is to mock up a plastic clutch pedal, and a mount for the master cylinder and over-centre spring, and test how the whole set up works.

Does anyone know what the purpose of the really weak brake pedal spring is?
Its too weak to hold the brake pedal up on its own, I just cant think why they put it there. The only other thing I can think of is that its purpose is to keep the brake booster piston ball joint lined up straight?
