Hi Simi, don't think its only me or only my local dealer. Was told me it was a dealer only job to update the firmware and they weren't allowed to sell them. Also said something along the lines of there being no point or relevance in running the update on my car. I didn't press the issue. I'm only interested in updating so i can see my 2012 sat nav maps in 3D.

I gather the discs are about £5.00 to buy so if someone has an original set they have finished with I will pay cost and postage rather than put another set in circulation from a main dealer.

Hi Manca,

I have a set I have used to update my car. You are welcome to borrow them. I live about 20 miles away from you just north of Bracknell if you want to pop over and collect. pm me if you want my contact details.

I start a new job on monday which will result in me travelling to Bracknell on a fortnghtly basis. Once i get details maybe we could coincide the two. I'll drop you a PM early next week if thats alright.

Thanks to Godders for the guide and to richardracer for the loan of the discs.

I now have the latest firmware installed. I have the option of 3D maps which is excellent. I even managed to see what they look like on screen for about 15 minutes before my sat nav packed up .

Richard, thanks very much... if its okay I'll drop the discs off again on Wednesday morning?

Default Returning disks
Hi Manca,

We'd is fine but no hurry. Make sure everything is working before dropping them back. I had to run disc 2 several times to get Bluetooth working again. Same arrangements for drop off as for collection. Hope you enjoy your 3d maps when sat nav working again. I had to go into hidden menu to tUrn some features back on such as speed limiter and battery meter for which I needed my vcds.

I'd leave the battery meter as it doesn't work properly anyway

Speed warnings... That's called the rev limiter :P

Ive got variable speed warning system on mine. . . it only works if shes in the car and then at random speeds and locations
