Nice easy job will only take you an hour or so and can be done on the drive in the rain.

Euro car parts have a promo offer on at the moment so enter PARTS25, they have Lemforder rod ends for 35.40 so knock your 25% off thats around 25 notes. Not looked at TPS because i can't remember my number

Thanks for the info - unfortunately its dark, pishing down here with freezing rain and my indie garage has already ordered up the part anyways and it'll be fixed in the hour. I always thought it required a bit of effort to separate?

Thanks anyway Dezzy

They shouldn't be too bad one end is treaded and the other should come apart with a couple of hammers or a fork if you have one.

Anyway good to hear they're going to get it done

Not too painful! £19.34 for the track rod end,£27.75 labourand £18.00 for tracking (on top of the MoT costs). SWMBO wont be dipping out on her xmas present!

That's very cheap for tracking. Did they do constant 'S' setting as well? If not then you are risking a premature inside edge wear on tyre. In my experience 9 out of 10 garages does not even know what it is.

I dont either! Please explain and I'll ask the garage.

I would recommend MEYLE HD. They are tougher, use bigger ball are supposed to last longer and come with 4 year warranty. I got pair on e-bay for £32 IRRC.
